Weezy's "freestyles" on his numerous mixtapes are gettin weaker and it seems like The Carter III will be the biggest flop since Kwame Brown was NBA number one draft pick!
This stuff actually looks like it coulda made it onto a Weezy F Baby verse!

And by the way, on a blog on xxlmag.com, someone said Weezy F Baby means "Weezy's fuckin Baby"!
After kissing Baby on the lips last year, go figure!

Kyt, I agree with you that Lil Wayne got skills...MAD SKILLS, if you ask me.
His delivery and ability to make even the wackest songs come to life on a remix right now are unquestionable. I respect the niggah...nothing more.

As much as he impresses me sometimes, he also manages to fall short on some other stuff. He was pathetic on Wyclef's "Sweetest Girl" cos if you hear Raekwon on the Wu remix and imagine Nas on that shit...twoulda been TIMELESS SHIT! I don't even wanna start on his verse on Jay's "Hello Brooklyn"!
He was also lame on "I'm So Hood Part 2" and made even Ricky Rizzle's average verse look hot. Luda and Busta KILLED that song dead!
One of the things, "young Carter" has managed to achieve is let people realise that they were wrong to have been sleeping on Juelz Santana. I got the mixtape they did together and songs like "Bad Side" and the "Throw Some D's" showed that Juelz can match and even scorch Weezy hot punchline for hot punchline!

Weezy has put in work and if he feels like he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as rap music's all-time greats, that's his opinion (a number of people share it as well). To me, he's like Lebron (at best) but until the dude make some great albums (at least 3, wudup KOBE!), all he gon be is a hot rapper for the download generation.

And one more thing, as much as I laughed at the "Lil Wayne is a fag" jokes, I don't think calling someone a fag is a nice thing to do, especially when you base the name-calling on differences in musical tastes. If Weezy's a closet fag, datz between his dick and whoever's ass! It ain't funny when everybody starts calling everybody else fags. 50 called Ja a fag and said he had taped evidence that we never saw, The Game said 50 and Young Buck had sex...WTF?

"I'm sorry I lied" (props to KRS ONE)...one more thing.

Don't call Kanye a fag!

lil' Wayne is inconstant with his skillz, some songs he is tight in and others he aint. In my opinion if you cant stay consistent then you are not on the top list. Although I do give him mad credit for his business-ship that man is a dope in the business (marketing) game.

I agree Weezy got skillz. I kept my eye on him, but he keeps disappointing lately. he gets annoying

he ain't consistant, so I wonder if Weezy is the one who has skillz, or his ghostwriter is the skilled one...
This time, love doesn't hurt, nor is is complicated

Well, for one, the dude went back to school and it seems to be yielding dividends in his work! That "I don't owe you like two vowels" has to be something!

I like his verse on Cassie's "Official Girl" (she screamin to the top of her...when I get on top of her...something like an opera"! As for having a ghostwriter, if he got the paper to pay him to keep quiet, fine! It was rumoured that Rhymefest was Kanye's ghostwriter but Kanye's stepped up and proven that he belongs with the best ( ask Common and Talib Kweli as well as Hova). I have seen Young Carter freestyle on BET and I'm an emcee and know a real freestyle when I see one. The dopeness that spewed from his mouth, syrup-induced or not was REAL!

I take back what I said bout how his Carter 3 might be the biggest flop since Kwame Brown! And like he told us on "A Milli", "MUTHA4KA, I"M ILL!"

His work rate is incredible and you gotta cut the dude some slack. Even Michael Jordan in his prime had some "off- nights" and for Weezy to drop as many verses as he does, sometimes you're allowed to drop below par. Even Hova, Pac and Biggie had some verses where they were nowhere near their best! Inconsistency is a human trait and nobody is perfect. Like Hova said on "Lyrical Exercise", "I'm far from being God but I work goddamn hard!"

Get 'em Wayne!

Agree with ya barstool but not completely, @Godfatha, i heard that thing about Gillie the kid, that shit is true? damn. well i dont know, one thing i know is this, weezy aint writing his rhymes, he couldnt be, how could he????? how can u come up with shit like "i shall hate them oops i meant have them, i'm so heavy oops i meant havoc, i dont front and i dont go backwards, i dont practice, i dont like shit, and ---i'm fucking good like am sleeping with megan---"(barry bonds, kanye feat wayne) IN THE SAME FUCKING SONG??? and u tell me someone aint getting paid to ghostwrite, fuck that. dude is wack, wait DUDE IS WACK. yo, his incosistency is off the charts, that proves a lot of discrepancies with originality, hov came weak? u still know its hov, pac came weak? still pac, u culd still tell dope but below his best, biggie came weak? dope but below his best, eminem came weak? still dope but below his best.. AM I getting thru to u yet? . Hardest working emcee? agree with u, respect for that, i aint hating. top of the mainstream charts? yeah, respect for that too, it aint easy remember he gotta be doing something rite, he gat lines but listen to weezy rhymes, it aint his men, cant be fuck that. that dude is wack. he's at the top cos of SWAG, period. thats wats going on now, FAKE IS THE NEW REAL, swag is the new lyrics, pathetic. he gat a way of making a song likeable, i admit, but lyrically that dude is more useless than life support on a dead man.

a mili, sick no question, but weezy write that? nope, i think not. and dont get it twisted, he stepped his game up a lot, so respect, but um, he's still wack.. :D :D

Now that's a punchline!

Until some ghostwriter shows up with a cheque from Cash Money (pardon the pun), I'll just continue to enjoy yhe good punchlines he drops and laugh at the bad ones. By the way, the explanation for the good and bad lines might be because he's ACTUALLY freestyling and droppin verses in one-take...add that to his syrup-guzzling and you can see what I mean.

Weezy's young and on his way up. Hov' didn't really go hard on the track "Mr Carter" and you know the rest! Like I said, let's just cut him some slack and imagine he was your lil' brother doing his thing and trying to blow! After all, he's officially called "Lil" Wayne, ain't he?

Ya dig?

Hahaha. Funny thread. The whole issue of kissing birdman is real gay. Am sure wheezy calls birdman when hes lonely and he'll sound like joe 'baby where you at'
Lol. But on the real though, cosign everything xblaze said. As a hiphop maniac, one of the first things i look at in a song is content. Wheezy lacks content, topics are lame. The guys got potential but her too commercial. Always trying to please the crowd with them wack punchlines 'i will take a nigga off like a saturday, i got this shit on lock like a closed door'. Thats substandard. On a rap basis, him dey try , but on a hiphop basis, he cant contest. He aint an mc. Hes just an entertainer like dbanj!
I know am DOPE but homie dont PUSH me!!!
The punchline kid, even amnesia patients wont forget that
