Yo, my Zimbo fam w'sup. I see the thread is indeed slowly dying but ya'll know how it is, internet mad
expensiveand on campus all entertainment sites have been blocked. Can only access this site by chance.

thread but its more at home here than anywhere else, so might as well post it here too. I know its a bit too long
but pliz may u jas give it a chance. It's raw, i never got to edit it. Would really appreciate the feedback
Ode for My First Love
18/04/06
We walked down this park before arm in arm
The flowers; the aroma
Raising our spirits into higher heights
Their scent consuming the stench of rotting carcass
As love and light conquered all
The lilies: the birds
They sang songs of freedom with too angelic a rhythm
But now this park; it has faded
The flowers; dried
the birds; hungry
too hungry to sing sing
Too hungry to even cry
Now who shall sing our love song?
Who shall sing our beautiful song of freedom?
Once; we stood at these ruins 26, or rather,
Over two decades ago
The blood that watered these ruins binding us
in a union that was only meant to grow
Buried here were almost two centuries of agony;
Of hate; of fear; of struggle
Now these ruins are just but ruins that stand concrete as
A symbol of our ruin
This house; so familiar
My soul; I swear it once was homed here
But what happened here?
What happened to the laughter; the joy; the hopes;
the dreams; the children?
Oh; the children!
Where are the children?
They who turned this house into a home
Oh…this house!
Is this the house that we built from the blood and carcass
of our very own daughters and sons whom once were here with us?
The ashes of their hero-ship cementing from the foundation to
the walls of this: our home
I understand why your…
…oh, I mean, why our house had to be
Built of stone; but love, you never told me that someday the
heart of this house: the heart of this home
too would turn stone, especially toward me
Especially toward the children
aah, the children!
Where are the children
I see no sign of their toys
Even their footprints have faded
Are they still here?
This place is so gloomy with out their smiles
Every thing here is so gloomy
Even this ring
It has ceased to shine it like it used to
Or was the shine just a façade?
For now it’s clear that its circle was never really complete
After all…
Many souls were never homed
Father’s soul was never homed
grandfather's soul; it never came home.
Yes this was freedom
But It couldn’t last
Father’s cows were never ceded
The Gods; the had to end it
Love Always

Perhaps we should not have encouraged
them to use cordless microphones,
for they have walked too far from the
source and are emitting a lesser frequency
