WEll, if u havent heard the new RE: union mixtape by kweli and HI-tek, then u definitely have to. here's a link

http://www.mediafire.com/?2znimlwzzta

If u like west coast rap with east coast bred producer, wat an incredible mix, u need to check out Pain Language, by DJ Muggs and Planet Asia, planet asia's rep preceeds him.

K-Os - YEs (2010)

if u like K'naan, u should definitely check this dude out, album is like african contemporary mindset, with canadian beats and definitely a lil twist of good rap, howz that? lol, he's Trinidadian but lives in canada, if ur mind is in a box, u will not enjoy this, emotionally aware music, some tracks he sounds like he;s discovering himself and his environment but still pulls through with amazing talent, the production is above average, there's a feel of alternative rock to it, just like K'naan's music repertoire.

Alex King - Reincarnated (2009)

this guy is some new rapper of dominican decent i just discovered, very inspirational music, rap without the bullshit, the dude is really a good listen. This guy's deep voice kinda makes the deep kicks of his drums a musical harmony, i was on amazon.com and stumbled on the guy, brand new, first album, but way too hungry to disappoint, thats why i like listening to most rappers first few albums, it kinda defines them or their character though some rappers tend to get better with more work, i'm definitely sure this guy will go places, not extremely hardcore, but not soft either, tales of hard childhood and broke lifestyle with amazing flow complement the whole collection.

Does anybody listen to Diabolic? he just released a new album
"Liar and a thief" -2010

and it seems like he's dissing Pumpkinhead, another well known underground rapper from brooklyn for those not in the know. that would be distasteful

first his album basically embodies all the cliches of underground battle rap, cmon men, how many times are we going to listen to sometime like this? that notwithstanding album is dope, with very serious battle rap, metaphors and sick wordplay, guest appearances also complement the album, Immortal Technique and Ill Bill. But a little variety would have made this album a classic, the beats are sick, the lyrics are on point, but they are monotonous, battle geared from first track to the last almost, he could've switched up and told us more about his perception of the life he lives in and every other miscellaneous information he could muster to make the album a more interesting listen. Evolution is key, the same thing every time makes u irrelevant.
Though, i forgot, he had some political messages to convey, u know, the various conspiracy theories that most so called socio-political rappers try to hammer these days, new world order and the rest of them, interesting listen no doubt, album was ok, hard hitting intelligent lyrics but i still wished there was more though, i know, but i've evolved past your typical hiphop listener, i just happen to know what i want in hiphop music. :)
Canibus also makes the cut.

Chief Kamachi - Clock of Destiny 2010

for lack of a better word, sick. another impressive release, but lack of blending of concepts easily weakens Chief Kamachi's rapping. But nonetheless, his flow kills everything, which is the problem i have with killah priest, killah priest is dope, but his flow is complete trash, he needs to improve his cadence on the beat, he can be boringly appalling at times, Killah priest's imagery is too vivid, yet i keep wishing he had a better flow, thats why the album "Beautiful minds" with kamachi was not really well received.(well at least not by me).

'...priest your lyrics/are too vivid/they're more like pictures' -Black August.
I love his music. Though yeah, no doubt it'd get monotonous to most people who just want some good music. I guess the Wu Tang influence still takes its toll on him

Nas and Damian Marley -- Distant Relatives

I just copied and pasted my review from amazon.com.

Nice and very impressive release from both artists, whom i consider accomplished. Production is classy, seasoned and mature, lyrics are dope but damian marley dominates throughout the album, are you kidding me? it actually sounds more like "Distant Relatives; Damian Marley featuring Nas" seriously, Nas was almost obscure most of the time, you cannot readily tell that there is a huge hiphop presence on the album. The beats come with huge reggae influence, not a surprise since most is made by damian himself, nice to listen to but nas the rapper did not pull his weight at all. It was more like Nas was passing by every song and decided to drop a verse, on the verses themselves, he sounds like he wasnt exactly sure how to broach the subject of Africa's different tribulations and trials. He still sounds like some guy reading a story about Africa and decides to tell it. He does ok, but his influence on the album is not felt as it should have been. By the way, what the hell is Lil wayne doing on this album?? his stake on publicity? this is completely ridiculous, lil wayne completely pulls down the album's worth. You tell us Africans about leaving the hood, staying faithful to your wife, disarmament and staying away from drugs and you feature Lil wayne? way to go Nas(cos i'm sure it wasn't damian's idea). But before i entirely castigate t
he album, i enjoyed it, much because of damian's impeccable artistry, Nas is ok but is easily out-shined.

Talib Kweli and Hi Tek's Rev per mInute

Album is dope but Hi- tek's production gets boring after a while, what a waste of Talib Kweli's blazing lyrics. How the hell do you use the same kicks from song 1 almost to the last song???? what producer does that?? after each track i kept waiting for Hi-Tek to come with a new concept on the next beat, nope, the same damn kicks, cmon.
album is nice, still playing it, Talib kills every track, beats are ok, but with Hi-Tek's status? i expect better. Sometimes i kept wishing talib could do the same with producers like Notzz, DJ khalil, Boi 1da, Kanye West, better still, BLACK MILK!!, that dude gat skills. this is why i dont always like this One producer one emcee thing, it kills creativity and variety, most of the time, it doesnt work, unless ur dre, timbo or Premo.
