Eeish guys been thinking deeply and i can't to seem answers to this question..Does the non existence of big name shows in Zim mean that we don't have promoters or is it bcoz they lack the dough..Which is which?Or is it bcoz our country's political-economical stance is so tainted that we can't lure artists down here?Imagine Jay-Z was down Egoli and all the other big name artists have graced S.A....Its high time promoters give us sumthing...I have written this all in the love for Hip Hop...Viva Hip Hop in Zimbabwe...I long for a Canibus jamming by H.I.C.C. or by Book Cafe...
Where are real music promoters??

The socio-economic situation prevailing in Zim is the reason why most "Emcees" wouldn't even dream of coming this side. You can look at it in from two different angles. Is the touring emcee likely to recover his money?NO!Is he going to be guaranteed safety? No!To tell you the truth i can't even afford going into town on a daily basis. That means i can't even imagine myself attending a JayZ FUNCTION(not that i like him anywhere). So the problem is not promoters but finance! The last international emcees to tour Zim were the lost boyz remember?

@ konflict
yo bro i'm thinking like we out here in Africa need to consolidate on wat we have here b4 we get on the level of them dudes outside the Continent.looking back at the evolution of hiphop it can be recalled that a couple of yrs ago it was strictly a North American fad but fast foward to the present and Hiphop has been out sourced.
one of the ways which i think we could elevate our game is to encourage mcs from different African countries to visit each other.like u could come to nigeria and i to Zimbabwe.this kind of cross marketing is sure to see the artists involved enlarging they fan base and outreach.
another ways can be thot up if we really brainstorm with a view to achieving the desired objective
...or wat do u think?
