This has been stayin' in ma mind for long now i feel i should let it out & get ya opinions heads.

The idea is peops formin' street teams in there areas. hope y'all know what a treet team is?
A street team is an organization of few individuals whose job is to promote artists in there urban area.

Now this is how it's done, if an mcee has a job that is out in the market & want to sell it in some areas or towns, he can't really do that without the help of some people who are in the area & knows about the behaviour of the people about a particular music. Now, this street team will know how to reach out to individuals livin' in there area, thy must have schemes thru which they reach they people; a kinda underground or grass root marketin'.

street teams know what sells & how to sell to some people & knows the music that appeals to some people. Before this team is formed, i think little aducation on marketin' need to be aquired & idea on how to set up a street team can be gotten in the web. It's done in the states & i think, naija is a better place to do this cos it's gonna help som individual artists who don't have the chance & are not favoured by this our so called marketers.

Am always mad to know that some peoples music don't reach in some areas where peops are hungryin' for it.........on how to make money with it, i'll psot bit up later after surfin' the web on the issue.

a street team already exists in nigeria.its name is FAST TRACK ENTERPRISES.
this is a network of a "runners" that has been built over the years.
presently certain labels and artists are already using the outfit to push their works and image more directly to the grassroots.
it also has a pool of dj's and on -air-presenters that it has established a friendly relationship.
any serious artist is adviced to hire the services of Fast Track.

no bribe..maybe payola for some dj's(wat can i say naija sucks!!).
i'll leave to have ur own experiences trying to do wat u gotta do to get ur self heard.
just know say for naija some people dont give a shit how hot ur shit is...they'll just sit it unless it becomes a runaway hit.

dr rhed....it's nice though but on the payol ish, it's normal cos that's how it's done in other countries
@therapaddict: meyn, i'll like to when i finish ma ish....just finished ma programme & i'll be hittin' the lab to finalize ish.

why don't we kick start this street team ish in our area..shit is a hustle, there're many ways to publicize ish & sell, it's all about puttin' heads down & thinkin' about it......

Now, if y'all will agree, we can form a AHH street team.....we can be the board of directos whateva & map out strategies to do it am ready anytime......

some schemes are:

t shirts
hand bills
graffiti
organizin' shows
hokin' up with radio DJ's & PJs'
& more

@ apo**lips,u kno that's some true talk,it's time somethin start off somewhere far from Alaba OR right in the centre of alaba that would look in the good interest of straight hiphoppers doin it from the heart ...................all it needs his relationship, chips and most of all dedication on the part of the front forces..................... I DOwn 2 BLAZE IT Y'ALL

True talk neb, like luchiano said, CD's should be sold like gala & that's true talk......let's take over from alaba distributors cos them don't know who needs what..i need real response to this not some typin'. Who know's, our era maybe a take over era just like the crunk era & ish..i read how master p brought south side music to where it is, i must tell y'all, the nigga is a straight up husler to the bone....he wasn't raech before or inherited ish jsut like the popular assumptions. He did it with his wife & that's legitimate hustle. u don't need to sell crack to people that'll get high & rob u to be a hustler...ya opions y'all. peace.

i could help with that part but if any body knows where i can get my hands on good spray paint it'd help a lot
all i can get around here is colored markers and pens
and just some stencils and isht
the spray paint will really be needed for grafitti

Fa real! CD's need to be sold like Gala and as a matter of fact, Da street Team I believe if organised well can make things happen and help a lot in Promoting an artist you know.

For example, If you have a member of ya Street Team in every Local Street or Avenue in ya Area, Just one person can influence the whole street with someone's joints if he could just apply the Word of Mouf Strategy you know, and always talking about an artist in the midst of a conversation and anytime he or she senses Homeboys around. Stuff like that.

Man am down with this Streetteam ish....how about you? What do you think? Someone holla back
