The July Toyi Toyi Hip Hop Slam: This Saturday!

Revolutionary Greetings in the name of the H.I.P.H.O.P., Her/His Infinite Power Helping Oppressed People all over the world. Once again we hereby transmit the call to active duty.

Firstly, we would like to give thanks and all respect due to the femcees n’emcees , beat-boxaz, deejayz, breakaz, hustlaz, goddesses n’ gods, n’ all the Hiphoppaz who came through to the Book Café in the last eight Toyitoyi Hiphop Slams. Our movement for emancipation through the manifestation of the H-LAW ( Health, Love, Awareness n’ Wealth) is growing ever strongly. We are indeed the Foundation. Big Up! Keep on Being U!

The July Toyitoyi Hiphop Slam at the Book Café is our 9th. This Slam like all othaz will be held on the 3rd Saturday of this month (July 15), from 1300hrs to 1700hrs. The flow of the show is such that from 1300hrs Deejay Cee tha Real n’ Slammaster G.O.D. will host the Ghetto Projektz Live Radio Broadcast courtesy of the Ghetto Projekts Community Radio Station. This Slam the broadcast will feature the very new n’ hot solo album from Dead Prez’s M1 that is rockin’ headz in the undaground. The album is entitled Confidential. In between the tracks G.O.D. will facilitate an audience participatory review of the project. Come n’ lets c how u feel it.

1400hrs to 1430hrs is time for the Spoken Word n’ Poetry Session. We will have poets from the House of Hunga Poetry Slam at the Book Café dishin’ out the verbal missiles. Poets from the audience are also free to step up n’ give us some. 1430hrs to 1500hrs is Fourum Theatre time. Bhingi Werks Theatre will present a depiction of oppression on stage n’ then as spect-actors the audience will act out the liberation process on the same piece. U have 2 b there to really appreciate this novel Theatre of the Oppressed technique.

Undaground femcees n’ emcees will get 2 rip the mic from 1500hrs to 1600hrs in the Knowledge Raps Open Mic Session. Deejay Cee tha Real will provide mad beatz 4 u so u don’t have 2 worry ‘bout ur instrumentalz. Registration 2 this session iz free n’ is done from 1300hrs to 1400hrs. Come One, Come All! Satiate your appetite 4 tha mic.

Dialektik Blu n’ the Ghetto Projektz will showcase conscious Revolutionary presentations from 1600hrs to 1700hrs. Dialektrik Blu is a dangerous combination of Outspoken n’ Upmost (potent emcees), whilst Ghetto Projektz will b represented by Cee tha Real n’ G.O.D.obori.

The Toyi Toyi Hip Hop Slam is facilitated by the Toyi Toyi Artz Kollektive n’ hosted by the G.O.D. n’ Deejay Cee the Real every third Saturday afternoon from 1300hrs to 1700hrs. Cover Charge is only $100 000.
