My Samsung DvD rom won't....

Yo...I've got a Samsung DvD which i bought sometime in 2004...The problem is i can't play DvD's anymore...I can only play Vcds and Mp3's and that really sucks..I've tried cleaning the Lens but to no avail..What should i do?With inflation this high(1 200) i can't afford to buy a new one
