there are alot of producers out there who are doin crazy shit even with fruity loops. the only problem is cash. coz producers are cool but cash for studio time and burning demos or albums. we cant just put it on the lack of producers. we need to stop talking about what we dont have thats what hurts us. we need to be thinkin about what to do. get together as real mcees and do something like the ventilation mixtapes where mcees on the real are busting their asses like street teams in the states pushin mixtapes for underground mcees. last week a nigga approaches me i was wearin baggies and some airforces and he's like "you like hiphop ryt" and i was lyk yeah then he gives me this demo cd for an upcoming cd . the cd was shit and the mcees terrible but on the cd it said shit "like copy at will" "listen and pass it on" dudes the talkin is all good but action is the best. even if it means gettin someone to beat box ar do covers for the moment until you can get beats then that has to be done.

im with prolyfik we got to advertise this thing. people i know we got access to printers and stuff. we can pass out flyers announcing some hip hop gigs so that people are aware. once the vibe stops being some secret society thing were a couple of niggas show up to scatter free style then it can be big and we can draw more people. because i neva knew there gigs were niggas met up to freestyle or perform either in H or in Skies. its got to be a known thing. once its known people will feel it and we will draw the reall producers who are in hiding. coz truth be told. if your a producer with some hot shit are you gonna throw it away to major players?

and about the diaspora acts we got to tell them how we feel about shit coz in the end we're all still zimbabweans wether in sa usa or the uk or wherever. we got to keep it solid.

As far as i'm concerned heads should not be recording albums yet.
Here's how i think we can make it with this thing.
1.stop looking for a hand to feed us/give us.There are no handouts.Especially for hiphop in
Zim.Maybe if we were urban grooves.NEWSFLASH:we are not!

2.Make beatz in our bedrooms, record MIXTAPES,Not Albums, and take them to the streetz.3.Sell from your backpack on a street corner, push it as cheaply as possible. If u have to sell,
charge for the material only not the music.Just get the names out.Push hiphop like a drug.Give it for free till their hooked.

4.Don't break your back tying to get to the people thru the radio. That has never worked for hiphop in this country.Break it trying to get to the peeps direct.Media will have no choice but to take notice.

5.We should hit the grassroots with this. The big people with the big pockets will only go where they know they'll find people.Until we have the people no promoter will invest in hip hop. It's just not good business.Just look at Tuku Or Macheso, they dictate the terms coz they got the region in the palm of their hands.Promoters have wet dreams about getting an event with these cats.they trip over each other.

6.Shows in the townships.Beauty pageants.Cyphas in the park. Battles on First Street or the Bulawayo Centre.BE VISIBLE.Carry a demo everywhere you go.

Push it like a street evangelist. They Will buy into our gospel sooner than later.
We just gotta take destiny into our hands.

I love the discussion that is all good, but now what about this event that is coming up because it is an opportunity to tap into that marketing and all we have been going on about....we can try to get Chucky to highlight that August is Hip hop Indaba and try to see where we can contribute because this is a huge showcase...remember black August? yeah, lets not get left behind because I am tired of all the real skills but we still in one spot

I think it's high time we took this hiphop ish to another level guys.....Okay,let's say we 've produced the albums and shit...Whose going to play that shit..Coz personally i don't believe that those PowerFm don't have any hiphop tapes...They can at least support the growth of this movement by holding battlecall-ins,play more hiphop or just discuss it for crying out loud...I don't believe we can go anywhere if we don't overhaul the media!

im not sayin that were ready to make albums yet. i got a homie of mine steward and we were gettin ready to cut a mix tape and he came up with this idea. he was like pushin an album is not the thing to do when your starting. you got to create hype. thats what cats in africa who are in the underground dont get. if youve got a hot product dont just dump it on the masses thinkin they'll all come. some might. but youve got to be smart about it. create hype so that more people are aware to the point where even cats who arnt down for hip hop are talking about the mix tape. first we cant think about makin profit. we got to get together give each other our contacts. then we find beats make a mix tape. we pool money and then burn copies and just sell the sheet on the streets from the trunk of a car with the shit bumpin. you sell the mix tape at the price of the burnt so that your coverin basic costs(wich is still way cheaper than spinalong) so its not about hunger or anything. i know each and every one of us is hungry for the ish. every time youwatch BET or MTV you feel it or you listen to some mcee on the radio. its about organization. we got to for some structured organization so that people see were serious. because how serious do we look if its cats scattered all over zim who have no cognizanse of the other groups. its about organization cats.

we cant leave it to chuck or anyone else. its up to us.

the thing is we got to do it quick while weve got steam. so the h mcees call up the niggas you know and byo get the peeps you know get details of every one and the link that into one thing. if it can be something where by there are dues so that we can get some capital then thats better but people might be freaked obout givin money. the fact is if we get our shit legitimate then peolple wont fail to come through. so when we call up for a gig you have this list of mcees to txt to tell them so its like an army call up. you can designate people to be street teams to go out there and spread the hype with cds and flyers. we can approach non governmental orgs and say we are social commentators or some shit like we want to change our country for the better. shit like that never fails to get funding. so even if we can form som ngo it would be cool. ill skillz is doin law and so am i so we can fid out the particulars. actually whoever wants to should step up. too many things fail because no one wanted to even get them of the ground and give them a try.

This is the point where we shld start.BG and Q i feel yu homies.this is definitely where we taking the work.the hype is the first step.and Batsie was on point when he said Mbare niggas bumb to hiphop.there is a misconception that ghetto brothers do not feel hip hop.they do.and its up to us to strengthen this.start low have fun and let`em chase yu in time.

yeah so at some point it needs to stop being just talk we need to start actin so first i think we got to build a database of all the hip hop heads we got we can start with byo cats rounding up your people and H cats doin the same. so that gigs can be as large as possible whether its in H ar skies. so it should be like a military call up. then we got to get ourselves together somehow and have some convention or meeting or atleast choose reps from each city to meet up and form something.
