^^ Welcome

I don't know how many times I'm gonna have to appeal for more feedback to no avail, but I'll keep at it.
I hate having to delete pieces and i've been avoiding it despite my warnings...
I'm afraid this problem can't be ignored anymore though.
Threads that have been posted above those with 0 feedback will be DELETED.

P.S: Happy New Year

bless

Guyz I'd like to re-highlight some of the rules again:

You have to comment on atleast two pieces before you post your own thread.

Lets keep the minimum poetry thread submissions to 4 per week please.

These are just two i felt needed to be repeated.

I been thinking about something. I love this poetry place and the poets in it. We have this rule that new poets need to give at least 3 feeds to other people's work before posting their own. A few of us keep repeating these rules to the new poets, but not all of them follow up on that 1 important rule that keeps the forum active.

so i was thinking if it is possible that, if a new poet posts a poem, without giving feed to other work, to close his or her poem from feedback. i've seen this on another forum and it really works. the only thing is that our mods are hardly ever online. I've noticed that Couzifer is here pretty much every day and I drop in every day too (even though I don't post every day). There are a few other that are here on a regular basis too. So maybe one of these people can become a mod too (if they're up for it), with the purpose to make sure new artists follow that important rule and if they don't their post(s) get locked for feedback until they show that they can read and feed on other poet's work too.

just a thought

Cool! About that rule of closing one's thread - I leave that up to the frequent users of this section (including you).

And yes we need more mods; Poetic Seraph do you want to be one? Also if you have suggestions for other people who will do the job... let us know cos we do need new mods all over this place, not just in the Poetry section.

Juma, I'm down with being a mod. I think Couz would make a great mod too. the thing is, I'm mainly (almost strictly) in the poetry section, but i could start nozing around a lil :)

I see a lot of new poets on here, which is exiting and great. they all bring a new style to this place. I also see that they do stick to the number 1 rule, but as I go through their feedbacks, it kinda feel like some of them (not all!!) just give some feedback real quick (with short replies like 'wow that was great'), just to get to that 3 feedback rule and then they go and post 6 or 7 poems.

I don't mind them posting a lot, I like the new imput. BUT the feedback sometimes kinda disturbs me. You can't really tell if people actually been reading the poetry, or if they just replied to the post to stick to the rule so they can go and post their poetry.

this is actually the main reason why I stay away from other poetry places online, cuz of the feedback you get that isn't feedback at all. I don't expect everybody to go and analyze every line in a poem, but I think that the writer would be pleased to see a reply that shows that you actually been reading their work. even if it's just a quote of the favorite lines or the impression the poem gave.

I know we can't force no one to give some decent feedback on each and every poem, but I think that it should be mentioned nonetheless so that people can consider giving feedback that is more than a few words.

just my 2 cents
