1st of all, rock is nt dyin. Its dead. It died long ago 4 its blak pioneers & precursors. Yes dats rite, rock used 2 be blak, & so was pop, blues, & jazz. Dats tha same thin they wanna do 2 hip hop. Bt we all know white men cant even spit. They cldnt sing soul & rnb cuz they aint gt tha rhythm, tha cool & finness blaks take 4 grant'd.
2nd ,wit due respekt tha Birth place of hip hop iznt in new york. U neva heard dat drums were 1st creat'd by africans? Dem niggaz bin rockin stages even b4 tha 1st europian ship anchored @ our coasts.
3rd, u gotta admit though, dat 50 was rite wen he said gt rich or die tryin, i gotta eat man, i gotta elivate man, i gotta survive, sunn. Or ama die tryin 2 do dat.It pays 2 know basic economics, mathmatix, psycholgy, history, etc.cuz walahi stayin real is mor difficult than it sounds. U cant simply just single handedly fight a war wit tha facilitators of corporate monopoly. They dnt giv 2 fucks about hip hop, they jst do it 4 tha payolla. No record lable. No record contrakt, no studio time, no royalties. So its ur choice 2 be real, drop jewels, & elivate slowly, surely. Or sell out, get rich ovanite, then crash fasta than a 747.~.
So keep it undaground baby. Suport independent hip hop.
1 Luv.

Interesting stuff man. I also think its amazing how much of the negative side of hip hop many Africans pick up. Hip hop is offcially dead, at least in America...Common wasn't lying when he said "I used to love her," lol.
Check out these articles I found on a similar topic, on Hip Hop in Africa. I think you guys will enjoy:

We agree with your consensus that is why we created http://www.lyricalsurgeon.com - to show the empowering lyrics and uplifting messages in music that we (collectively speaking) produce. What we have noticed while we have dissected songs is that they make the artist more hueman and you really hear their life.

For instance, we are about to post about the positive lines in BIG's Skys the Limit. We have dissected other artists' songs, like Sizzla. Nas & Damian Marley, and more to come. People just have to listen. Two ears and one mouth for a reason.
