Perhaps we should not have encouraged
them to use cordless microphones,
for they have walked too far from the
source and are emitting a lesser frequency

Could'nt help but laugh cos des a very accurate observation, which
i thought only my crew n i had observed from half the cats i've
heard spit. However, not all Bluez emcees r on that level. Anyway
every joint has got their "funny niggas", with H' its worse, we even
get to hear H's funniest or rather whackest on radio 24 hrs a day.
The wu' mentality is jas not the worst o it. I've had brothers spit on a
Tupac note( in this day n age) Now,how funny is that?

NB,got no beef with PAC, he is one o my o time favourites.

Bulawayo has some good emcees ,but yah ,y'all are right this Wu business has gotten to most's heads.Right from the names you can tell that a lot have thrown the value of having meaning and relevance out the window. They've chosen to sound intellectual and clever when in actual fact ,if anyone is to have an impact as an emcee, you need for the average head who may not own the Oxford Thesaurus to at least understand one line.

l've been in Christian meetings where you find these young ,zealous Gospel emcees go on babbling jumbled up verses from Revelations.Sounding all sriptural and deep, but after we do the closing prayer no-one's learnt nothing.lt's such a pity.

True emceeing is about clarity, meaning, relevance and message.Unfortunately there is no school that teaches that so don't bother trying Milton High or The Dominican Convent. They can't help.

-QUODIVERSE

OH ,seeing as we started off talking about names, how about we all post and give a breakdown on what our names mean.l'll start.

H-town is full of ill emcees than Byo...coz them Byo cats mix a whole lotta vernac in their spits...That tends to sicken their raps...anyway....all the same they have chnaces to improve but word up...h-town...Meta will be touring with common in a months time...sorry for the silence been writing my finals.....

nah thats not correct Konflikt, people should stop listening to power fm too much...I know more than fifteen skies MCs that would get signed anytime without vernec in it atraight up, and I'm in H-Town right now and I know there definitely aint the wack cats that one of the contributors to this thread pointed to. The deal is we aint got the right criteria to be jugding whats what in Zim, we all got a vague idea coz radio is kak.

Quodiverse, why you not linking G?
