What do you want to record with your future studio?...Voices/Midi/live/break beats/instruments...ITs very important thing to know in order to select the best gear particularly for a smal budjet.
Let me know your musical objectives and I will be able to give you some good tips...

Ok, if I understand you just want a very simple configuration that allow you to make good demo!
So for a start price you will have to buy:
Mics SM58 this is the BEST MIC ever for a affordable price. The best artits are still using this piece of modern music. $99
8 tracks digital recorder tascam DP 01 is great and cost about $400 but you can find some fostex for $300
To make your beats you have 2 solutions. Use your PC and Reason or use
a groove or prod station. The best is MPC 1000 for $999 new
or you can start with korg electribe for $270 new. Its made for techno but you can make really good hip hop break beat with that shit believe me!
Also you will have to buy accesories cables $10
head phones any price
So for about $800 you can have a cool recording and breaking beat station all new (yes I know music gear is fucking expensive!). If you are patient and want to spend time on the web you can have this for half price but used and not under warranty!
For more info check http://www.guitarvis...mf_frameset.htm
or email me.
Take care and good prods...

What mics can you advice? The price isn't important, the main thing is how good they are.
