The Goal of Hip Hop was to become a part of scociety- to integrate ourself- without loosing our own Culture.
So why are the people don´t rap in their mothertonge. Were do we want to integrate us. to the american Rap szene? To the french one? Or to our own society.
The question now is:
Why we alwayz use the language from foreign settlers?
English & francais is good for communication - but we need to ask us if it is the one for expressing our self.
In Kenya people rap in Lou and Kiswaheli. In Austria people rap in their slang. People in ethiopia rap in amharic. People rap in wolof- even if I don´t understand these words - the flow is deluxe.
Support your language! Support the change.

And secondly- just because of using mothertongue means "WORLDMUSIC".

I am Nigerian so I understand where you are coming from. That problem is acute especially among Nigerians. Nigerian emcees largely ignored Fela until people in the states started flexing with Afro-beat and then suddenly ...everybody is Afrobeating. I am all for hiphop in local languages but at the same time remember how Fela did it. He mainly used broken English to reach out to people who do not understand Yoruba but at the same time he used Yoruba hooklines/choruses/phrazes that grounds the theme of the music. Bob Marley also struck that balance in that he did not delve too deep into his own local accent (Bob was a real country boy). Your culture is nothing to be ashamed of but at the same time also think of the people you are trying to reach. By the way I really like Orishas.

I sho enouf feel you. I miyself have a native tongue. But you gotta understand that what people buy are things the majority of the people understand. The main languages today are French and English. It sounds corny listening to a rap that's none other than English and french. If we establish our language outside of our borders and make it captivating somehow, people will appreciate it. But until then, I don't know.
