It appears as though this site is the only one without a track dedicated to it even though it's probably the only highly active pan-afro site compared to the rest....so why ain't the emcees that reside and continue to drop rhymes on this site show some love and drop some audio lines....what do you all think???????agree with me or not :?:

I think the best thing is for the Africanhiphop.com crew to organize it themselves so we can all have one central spot for everyone who wants to contribute lyrics, beats or remixes to drop something. In fact it can be an on going arrangement where producers put up beats and emcees drop their shit and engineers mix it and if the Africanhiphop crew likes it they can keep it until something 'better' comes along.

So how can we do this? I think first we will put up a beat (it only needs to be a loop).

Then all participating emcees must mail us and they will receive a space to upload their contribution. They should probably send an accapella MP3 of high quality... so that we can put everything together.

Also it would be good if you can listen to each others track... maybe we can put up the individual contributions as well.

any suggestions on how to put the chorus together?

if we are going to have all the emcees rap one after the other I think it would be best if the person going first sends his verse or chorus to the next emcee thats next so he/she will know how to come about and make it blend in smoothly. Most important thing we should not forget is everybody will be recoding with a different settings especially those who will be using their PC, so there might be some difference in quality some might be louder some lower. So how do go about this one......but I guess like J4 suggested everybody send in an acapella and hopefully someone amongst us got a good production skill so he'she will have a go at perfecting the acapellas.............what do you all?

Yeah that sounds OK... one after the other.

I think the loudness of the vocals isnt really a problem cos you can compress, change volumes etc - I can do that here or if someone's a studio professional with spare time, they could do it, as long as we have the acapelas. Of course the sound color will be a bit different between those emcees... maybe we should put up a few guidelines for recording so that entries wont be distorted etc.

Also, how many lines must everyone have? If it's gonna be 20 emcees then 8 lines is a lot already!

yea I agree, 8 lines if its 20 emcees sounds good enough....and the recording quideline could help a lot too.......I'll add a link to that on a different thread.......J4 and if its not much of a burden sice you are the MOD could you make the thread stay on top of the forum, so anybody who comes in can see it first.

Why not take it to the next level?why not make it a compilation, if we already got 20 MCs, i think it's about time J4 that you put something out there, you have been a institution in African hip hop for the past 5 years
it's time for you to make something concrete come out of it, this will be a truly panafrican compilation... What da ya think??

ILL Maestro: ?

so its five.....more is welcome......someone start, or link this thread on the Swahili section with this info in swahili so if there are any emcees there willing to be part of this they can know about it.I would do it but I don't know the SWahili language

count me in, i have a couple of ideas:

1. we should all agree on a deadline for emcees to enlist for the anthem. Once that date hits, we are clear on how many emcees are participating and can then proceed to formulate the anthem (bars, hooks etc..)

2. we all agree on the mode of digital recording (i.e which program we will be using to lay the vocals). Im not sure what the majority of yall use to record at home, but i would suggest we use either Acid for recording and
Sounde Forge for editing..only because the learning curve is not that high. Plus noooooon posted a thread called 'All U Need to Record at home..' or something and you can download these for free i believe. Check it out..all u need from there is a good soundcard and good mic.

3. once all the above has been resovled we can move to the details. i am willing to also help out in the engineering side of things is you need an xtra hand J4.

i think this effort will take alot of organizing being that emcees will all be flowing on the same track..so maybe its worth it to take baby steps for now until we see the bigger picture?
