When I open my mouth
truth commot like bird for air
I wear drealocks for my mind
While you de wear am for your hair
Who fit compare?
Who fit be more selective?
my rhythm is moist
I penetrate
without contraceptives.
Receptive are my senses
Analytical my mind state is
Powerful my icon
I commot my body
Leave am rested
So I fit shine like dat diamond necklace
for your throat
Living Oyibo dem breathless with this scope
American go begin talk say: "That shit is dope!!"
But no be dem talk say Africans no de use soap?
You see..
Na me be the 'i' for your chemistry
The el ow vee ee
Reciting rhythms and rhymes
that have been hidden for timmmmmmmmmme
And ages
Now I give them to this generation born
From predictions of ancient.
The stout drinking area Daddy
High-life feeling happy
Naija fit play your game
Deciphering hieroglyphics again and again
With results against the grain
So I go talk am only once
I Came To Take The Pain!!
With the Hand like Michael Caine
And like Majek Fashek
I go Send Down the rain
And rinse away your shame
Because if you no sabi by now Divine Purpose is my name
And the motherland is where I came
Insane I no be, for me this poetry no be game
And if I was born Oyibo I will be exactly the same
Spitting words from the grave of the living plains
We call Africa
The mental mafia have hijacked our individual self-esteem
Put us inside straight-jacket with debt and false beliefs.
When we deny the world the real African in you and me
We deny ourselves the right to live how we were made to be.
Wonders shall never cease.
