Why do i feel pain
When i see ma brother gain

Shouldn't i work hard
So i can also get paid

Instead am content with sulkin
At every chance i be gossipin

I should lend a helpin hand
But i'd rather see you on the ground

Wishin others to fail
Only leaves me at the tail

Who is this culprit
Burdening my heart

With a weights thats so heavy
I think i found him.Its ENVY.

this poem had a smooth simple flow to it that was a lil break to all the encryption cats been doing in the forums. That means I think its a good 1. You took time to read it through before putting it up. awesome.

Envy and discontent is the killer to all good things. I so feel that right now coz Im feeling real discontent with an important person and i hate myself for it.

keep writing man.

Tru' dat...and I'm liking this poem jus' as it is...simple like that...no need for explanation!

I think envy lives within everyone of us...in a good or bad way...the question is which way envy be takin' you?!

Interesting piece, someone realises the problem but is a little reluctant to change their actions and attitudes...

When i read the first lines

Quote

Why do i feel pain
When i see ma brother gain

I thought about betrayal,
then

Quote

Shouldn't i work hard
So i can also get paid

made me think of some one that really wants to get to be on the same level with people above him
then

Quote

Instead am content with sulkin
At every chance i be gossipin

made me change my mind again... i stopped reread the title and then it hit me. The first line reminded me of Kane and Abel... and a new train of thought emerged. I think it's a good piece.

high priest...this poem is informative and shuns this deep-rooted vice which is seldom noticed in our society...
people must work and emulate the ones worth..."envy is poisonous". thanks for reminding us!!!
