Hold me near like the night holds the day
show me compassion like water does to thirst
my days run in phases of never ending tests
my voice hymns to the melody of misery.
I stand with shrugged sholders like wilting daffodils
In life but dying so constantly.
I find solace in forsaken hallways
Places where my kind mingle with broken hearts.
A place where hope has grown lifeless like desert sands
Farmily knows me not
friends know me not!
Am that stranger dressed in rags,
Am that lover torn to shreads,
Am your neighbour lost with words,
Am that soul looking for a heart that cares
hold me near
HOLD ME NEAR

these were my favorite lines the first two were very nice,
towards the end i felt the essence of the whole piece even more and appreciated it as if you read the ugly moments when we need the embrace and a shoulder to lean on ....hold us near that is lol..nice piece cornelius good to see you blessin us again with beautiful poetry.by the way i wanted to post my piece but when i saw yours i decided to let yours get the attention and generous read from poets around let em feeds come in then i'ma drop mine after that atmosphere is exhausted, word.

I love the emotions in this piece...they can be felt with every line of the poem...and thats the beauty of poetry...it got to penetrate / absorb into the reader's mind!!!
