Maybe I should write you a poem
To tell you how I feel
So I can blame it on the liberty of poetry
And claim it was all in the name
Of metaphores and rhymes
When I poured out the essence of my heart
In these few lines
Maybe I should find a rhyme to let you know
How every time you stare at me
And this beautiful smile appears on your face
You remind me of a god-like creature
And even though your smile is not the only best feature
It still inspires the butterflies in me.
Or maybe I should come up with a metaphore
To make you understand
How the brightness of the sparkle in your eyes
Equals the beauty of a starlit summer sky
And how the depth of your emotion-filled breath
Makes me believe that this can’t be a lie
Maybe I should just write you a poem
To tell you how I feel
Or maybe I shouldn’t write, nor rhyme either
Bec ause I don’t wanna scare you away
But I can’t lie to you neither (18 dec 09)

ooh yeah...I love simple poems that go to great depths...this is an exact example of such a piece!!!...I loved it stanza to the other and the flow is jus' amazing.

I know exactly what you mean! felt like this so many times....somehow u do always end up writing even if u never show them...

I love this..
its.. umm.. its poetry. its soulfull... i love the conflict going on between what you want to do and the consequences it might have on ur desired effect. the battle between you and you. simple, beautifull..
