Seriously guys, the name of the country is NIGERIA. It was given to us by Lord Lugard's mistress.lol
The whole naija name calling doesnt show 'eliteness' or african pride (PS. African pride not nigerian pride).
Sometimes I wish we had a stronger name like Uganda or Congo even Sudan(which means black).
Honestly the name naija is dumb if u ask me. Listen to the sound of it lol.
I know the power of words and i stick with Nigeria.

Lol... Au contraire, I don't see anything wrong with the name "Naija" - it's only an informal way of adressing Nigeria. Besides, other African countries have their own abbreviation or slangs too. e.g TZ HipHop (Tanzanian HipHop), SA (South Africa) et al. It's only a form of local expression which is rapidly becoming a trend in the world - not just Nigeria or Africa!

naija is just a slang homie, just a way of identifying and being proud of our own, i know u know the roots of the word Nigeria so i'm not even going to explain, but naija is more homelike, original, african-pride kind of name that i totally dont see anything wrong with. i use it all the time most times when i'm talking to americans that know a little about
Nigerian hiphop, that way just cos u know where i'm from dont mean u know shit! lol its really just a slang MHP, no need to get personal with it...lol
