Ok I went through the list and in many ways I wasn't surprised.Same ol peeps,same ol shebang!! No REAL hiphop act dey there sef..besides Da Grin though(Boy is repping hard,I can't front on that).In my opinion..this is WACK!!! Real hiphop heads should shun this shit-ok vote for Grin though-LOL. My opinion so don't be hating on me.One

for the love of christ, MI's album came out last year so why is it stil kept up 4 nominations, albums like CEO by dagrin or even IGHO's LP (though it aint all that) are just lyin around.

Liked the mixtape of the year award though but on the real, the whole award nominations are wack in it's entirety

This is pure BS!! Where are the true HIPHOP heads on the list??? Are they DEAD??? This is a dis to real HIPHOP in NAIJA...Please they can at least change the name of the award...where are those Sbuttah boys?? no one else has brought the real yet..am still waiting for those PH cats to drop though.Besides that what the fuck is BRACKETT??? damn..am AWED by this..in fact I don tire...

There is no real hip hop awards in this country as afr as I'm concerned. SMVA awards did a thoro job in nominating and even giving the award to Str8buttah because they deserved it. And apart from the SMVA, I have not been impressed. Real heads dont have enough money to promote themselves the way these wannabe rappers do.
Hopefully in the futer we'll have our own community u know...CD shops that have our own type of music and award shows that have our artists on their nominations list. But all that is in the future. For now...wait for next year's SMVA...and hope they dont fall below the bar.
