Suddenly a flash.

back for the sequel trapped in a cave
thrown in a gauntlet of flashing blades
stray booby traps fuse active grenades
set to blast flames
trip motion detector, rock boulder makes a fantastic chase!
graspin my tattered tanned khaki hat I ran fast paced
down corridor passageway as flown copperhead axes aim
to wisp & catch face;
bullwhip crack I swung past gate
landed next to.. "snakes, damn it had to be snakes" !?
found a crawlspace; a trap door I had fallen thru
to later awaken in a graveless carcass tomb
a pitch-black,
basement darkened room
lit match,
reveals a wall of sacred art engrooved
thick staff,
& an ancient harpoon hook.
with fresh scriptures etched
..oddly lookin like i mustve fingered in text
"he's comin wait for him"
it read & now Im confused & hear footsteps?
shit.
accidently tripped,
off a lever as I sensed danger
an altar arose from ground & carried me to a chamber
wall spun around one-eighty degrees
full of blood stench caught on getaway breeze
from distance a glow flashin' at me
could this be " the staff " for immortality?
pocket knife scraped off tha wax it inhabited
discovered inscriptions written on tha shaft of it:

"This time will come... great tales of speed against stars & thru it shall mortals see themselves as the only constant"
