WHAT IS VENTING
By Ceroromo Bragg

To vent is to escape the evil thoughts that haunt you at night
To vent is to find an opening to release the pressure from your mind
To vent is to be free of all emotion and exhaustion
I vent so hard that the stress is mind boggling
Things, thoughts, feelings have been bottled up inside me for so long
These feelings have done damage to my soul
I am a wreckage that has been lost to the sea for years
It feels as if life herself stopped looking for me
I close my eyes and think of my life overall
Deep breathes from my chest activity allow me to exhale
Releasing this agonizing pain
The feeling is pure, and refreshing
It is a feeling like no other
The smell of the air
Is of a clear mist from the river in the early morning
For years I have held captive these thoughts and feelings
That fought me inside and outside
Causing me to once feel as if I needed to kill myself
My own intentions almost caused me harm
People down talking me, making feel small
Telling me that I wasn’t going to be anything in life
So many horrible memories of what I call torture
I had no one to talk to, or no one to feel my pain
Never in my life have I vented until now
I have so much on my brain
Feel my pain, my joy, my hope, and my happiness most of all my struggle
I am happy in life more now then ever before
To be able to admit my faults, mistakes, and wrong doings
Its only a part of growing up and becoming a man
Finally I can look in the mirror and say to myself
I am proud of you and what you have accomplished in life
I always tell myself that I wouldn’t trade my life to be anybody else’s
God the heavenly father created me in his image
From being poor, abused as a child, and treated wrong by my mother
Has only made me a stronger individual
I like to call this my testimony
Feel my breath on your neck as I vent
It is hot and humid
Dry like the desert with scorching heat
Theses words that you read today will go down in history forever
Know that you was there for me
Allowing me to vent to you
I once was told that never to give up on life
For deep down inside my heart I know I have more to accomplish
Now I can breathe deep…for this is what I call venting

yo, this was interesting at the begining, though the length of it might discourage most people. u should maybe do shorter pieces, just to allow fellow poets to chew on more deeply and give decent feedback.
but again, its just venting. and when there's a lot to vent, its burden to a poet.
nice work brov.

I cosign with vnorm (I c u man :p) on the lenght of the poem. Ur poems always make sense, but for some reason they sometimes make me feel like they are 'on the surface'. like you give a list of facts, but u don't dig deep into the emotions.
This time, love doesn't hurt, nor is is complicated

Find me on facebook, soraya deb

Thanks for venting men…I almost felt I was in your shoes, felt the emotion and most of what you vented, makes a lot of sense…you are now a stronger individual, optimistic and visionary I get..overcoming obstacles also made you a good poet. This is a good message you have and everyone can learn something..i feel I love the piece. Its food for thought and the stylistic devices have also been used effectively..peace brother! You are a treasure in AHH..at least I learnt something from this one! Peace and elevate!

no feedback is ever given in bad faith bro.
we just try to help build each other so that when u do release your book, people will enjoy good poetry. Not to say your poetry aint good, but anyone can always get better and we all strive at that.

peace
