Am on location as a fan, wanted to be part, wanted to support that ill mc on the street i wanted the witty rhymes to sweep me off my feet. I wanted to naked see how the opponent survives that heavy punch line defeat, that’s why early in the morning I sacrificed my sleep. I couldn't live with missing the front seat. i wanted to catch the action every bit , was there when the action kicked, way before the judges, the host, the sound man could do the sound mic check, ONE TWO,ONE TWO yes before they could speak.

Before everybody thought that blinged kid was weak, yes that cat that turned out to be really sick, before the Cd skipped, before the Dj ,before that ill looking mc from the word go went off beat.i expected before the show started i got blessed with some classic & what the fuck!! What they playing here must be Classic 1.05 they need they need dump it and the story go like this…
Again am on location at what supposed to be lyrical slaughter house. from the location of the event to the judges, from the judges to the way they are doing the auditions this is a no street quest for the crown of the illest emcee ,this is audition for pop idols or some soft shit like that, but you gotta give to the small crowd that showed up, they are hip hop and you can tell by the boredom in the air. They are not feeling this shit.

I ain hating fam.... am just being honest. am a hip hop head always ready to pick on any soul trying to pimp this shit with the corporate world thing. truth being they use you as a bait...You pull the crowd they entice you with the funding and you done. you a product, you an image. There is a rise in product sales. this what we have here today at its best arise .

And yes the excuse for the language thing being as always is been able to break borders...boundaries. I thought the corporate sponsoring this was an committed to being african, ..content & shit.Get the ledge ? when i say product-Corporate world-slave circle. i thought we said no to Neo-colonialism. Am not a muthafucker on the keyboard writing expecting to cash in come end month as a result. The part you are co-sigining has no basis though....hip hop in KE, is not that big...so no one is pimping nada. My point things are getting to whiny status out here and when people start fitting hip hop in a box...aka i'm real you are not, shit really gets pathetic real quick, you cannot one hand says hip hop is the voice of the people, then the very next confine how they express it....be real.

Well according to most people who attended the show was a flop. First the venue was largely a mystery until a few days to the event hence the small crowd. The atmosphere wasnt that of an emcee battle contest but that of a normal audition for singers and the crowd was not allowed to hype up their people! And the judges, they just had to bring Nazizi into the picture yet again for the second season yet her ability as judge in the first was very questionable. Others thoought it was quite unethical to have Abbas as one of the judges yet he is closely tied to one of the contenders, Kimya. All in all alot of question marks are being raised about the event and the winner, Point Blank has a lot of work to do if his skills were anything to go by...

EMcee AFrica Kenya was just a mistake....i mean i see wanna be Emcees walking up try to do some nursery school lines, then the Judges......Please they would have done better, i mean Nazizi does Reggae for cry out loud, I have nothing against them Reggae artists or funs for that matter, but the thing was to see lyricists, I mean some prowess with words, some definition of a true Emcee….then Abas aka Dobeez aka Kubaf aka whatever the fuck he wants to call himself, I mean a ghetto fab wanna be cant just do any judging and the fact that the Kimya biz was not adding up well. For Mwaf……I got nothing to say to him he talked on each track he ever used to make music. I mean there has to be an art in doing all this….i mean we can’t have an Emcee Africa Kenya with all this bullshit… we need to get back to basics and search our hearts and see what is good about Hip hop, then Embrace it and defend it with true rhymes. I keep saying I was never born, I was a lab test after being sketched and invented, the test went bad and had to be reinvented that’s why I can’t stand weak ass rhymes and I flame thunder on the beat (those who have heard me can confirm it) so we need some upgrade as far as this so call Emceeing is concern…its an art and let be that way!!!!

i get ur point after seeing it on channel o yesterday,,but the question is why the eff didnt u come out to show and proof.?..making random rants all over the net wouldnt change the fact that point blank won.....or whats his name??

kenya is not an entirely english speaking country besides they are better in long distance than in rapping...in my opinion it was ok,,,being an mc is not easy thats if u went thru the basics....maybe next yr they will do better at least i saw about 6 dudes spittin failrly ok rhymes and the last cute lady did well....so my last word is if u think ur dope come out and show it dont hide under the walls of ur room criticizing others who gave the best .

@bolaji: there is one thing i am getting from your posting, its like you're blaming me for the fucked rhymes the so called emcees did. and for sure are a great Emcees in kenya and are great in English, we dont just run on the track we also spit on the tracks. so i dont see why you make a conclusive thot that we are better in long distance...we are better in many things, i will guess you know no shit about this nation that's why you talk blind. Nigga listen there is something you need to know about the art of Emceeing, its self explanatory, it needs no judge to say its cool, it needs no competition to declare its fit. i have see serious Emcees doing there things without the fuck called a judge and they are Kenyan and doing it in English, for instance Bamboo is a serious Emcee, Ogee Baba, Kantai, Sep Squad.....the list is long, these are well defined Emcees and they do there thing in English....so dont just conclude and you got no idea what you saying, you and i both know the reason there was Emcee Africa challenge is Business, the sponsors, the organizers and all the crew behind that ish, its all money, its nothing to do with Talent and seekikng for it. so dont hate on me and blame me for the fuck that took place in the name of Emcee Africa Kenya.

I don’t get what your saying…I don’t sit and criticize, I have been there done that and run the race and by the way I won the race in my hay days and got the T-shirt and in this case the T-shirt is my Album; Get Low. So I don’t need to spit rhymes for the some human to judge me, so get the facts right, its still does not make a ripple in the sea. I did rhyming when Keith was Sweat, and when Heavy was D, and hip hop was run by Cool Herc. There is nothing cats do that can impress me. I know there were guys who did well but averagely it was insane. I have nothing against you or what you write but get the facts right. I was here when LL was ripped off with Canibus on the MIC, I have been here and done all that. I was born in the battle of rhymes. When I sit and make my remarks its not that i am hating, i am true to this Art of Emceeing. its just that music is not a priority in this side of earth so I got to do things that will get me rich quicker. So I don’t see the point facing a group of wanna be Hip hopers and showcase my Rhyme ability. I can hook you up with my joints, if you dont mind.

But the fact remains that you don't really need to spit rhyme yourself to know somebody has presented bollocks on the stage. That is why apart from the judges, the CROWD, the audience is a significant part of any MC battle. If the crowd dont feel you cant ask them why they don't show up and spit. If it was a universe full of MCs who'd be there to buy our records?? So if someone puts him/herself out there at that moment it stops being general and we have every right to criticize.
