J.Period talks about working with Q-tip and touring with Lauryn Hill




ABOUT J.PERIOD
With a resume that includes DJ & Remix work for Grammy-winners Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Kanye West and Mary J. Blige, J.Period is one of Hip Hop’s undisputed Mixtape Kings and most respected DJs. His remix work has been commissioned by Universal Music Group, MTV & Sony; praised by Billboard, Vibe & The Source; and featured in blockbuster film trailers (Universal’s 2007 American Gangster, Fox’s 2008 Street Kings). Recently, J.Period also became the first DJ/producer ever commissioned by Activision to score and produce an entire video game soundtrack—Tony Hawk’s Motion for Nintendo DS.

J.Period’s work has earned countless awards: 2 consecutive MTV “Top 5 DJ” awards, 2X “Mixtape DJ of the Year” awards, 3X “Best Mixtape of the Year” awards, to name a few. As a performer, J.Period crowd- rocking skills have earned high-profile gigs at Kanye West’s Official Grammy Party, P.Diddy’s White Party, internationally as Lauryn Hill’s Tour DJ, at NYC’s Central Park Summerstage, and at clubs around the world.
