Peace,

I'm working on a survey looking at the role of internet, digital media and social change within the hip-hop scene in Africa. This is going to be part of a presentation at the African Studies Association.

I'm working to try and get as many different voices to be a part of this as possible. If you are an MC, producer, DJ, manager or involve in hip-hop in Africa in any way and are interested in having your perspective heard, please take a look at the link below and get you voice heard.

Feel free to forward to friends who might be interested!

If anyone has any thoughts or questions - feel free to email me at ben@nomadicwax.com

Peace and respect,
Ben

I am:
A constant energy,
An ever-changing entity ,
Like the wind blowing
I remain free flowing,
on a journey of self discovery,
myself i hope to find...

We need mor enlightment on hip hop, & its deep roots in our heritage & culture; cuz tha way we goin yankee hip hop no dey define our strife & struggle anymor. I dnt relate 2 Gangstalicous-like MCs nt cuz i dey playa hate, bt cuz i dnt relate 2 ice studed platnum chains. I'd ratha listin 2 dat shit dat make u feel a headrush, like hw did he cut dat?! U dig? Lyk strand me on an island wit a dime, ma music library, fruity loops, cubase & Reason. Cuz ma ears ar bleedin from whak basslines, percussions, and bars & hooks. So tru hip hop heads need 2 hear or be heard. Get tha word out.

peace.

Blak Assasson.
