When the kwaito/house track 'Township funk' by Mujava got a UK release in September, the b-side remix was called 'Africanz on mars remix'. A title seemingly chosen because it sounds a little absurd and dreamy, yet it also breathes the optimism of a new era where racism and a history of oppression can no longer hold you down from reaching to the top.
The US elections victory of Obama, son of a Luo father from Kenya, to many is an important landmark in the struggle. But aren't these the US elections? And is Obama really the lost African son who held on to the African dream?

I kno' its been said a million times n' I'ma repeat it again; This is History in the making, I feel like God has done me a favor coz have always asked him why he didn't bring me into existence early enough to see Martin Luther King , Malcom X, Marcus Garvey and the others but right now I can see a modern day Malcom X, Martin Luther King etc., I jus' hope this really marks the end to racism and oppression all around the globe!

They might be called 'US Elections', but at the end of the day we are all affected by American Politics. The statements I am about to make do NOT reflect those of my country and I am open for criticism as the statements might not be in the interest of others: "The US President, no matter who that person may be, in MY eyes, runs almost-if not all of the world's political scenes." All world countries either have major issues against the US, or entirely depend on the US. They run practically everything. They feed almost the whole world; they practically control almost all international/intercontinental organizations. If they raise sanctions against you, your whole country will suffer. The US Gov't, in my view, is the WORLD's governing body - like it or not.
So who leads this superpower matters. And I think Obama was the best choice because he seems to be a person who is concerned about the entire human race, and not only the American people as has been the case with others. They might have given you the 'we care, here is some money' attitude, but I strongly believe Obama really does care. I am happy, because come January, the World will have a better leader
