the highlight for me had to be the POC lifetime award, that was the most significant. Shaheen was the emcee back then proudly in that afrikaan accent, the deliverly and content was flawless, and beautifully african. Ishmael on the other hand arguably one of the most multi talented cats in SA, singing, rapping and ragga few can do that...need i say more about Ready D and Ramone. Back in the day the only local Hiphop disc u wud get in Musica was POCs and Black noise. There would be like two copies and i wud come back after six months the other copy will still be there. But the cats never compromised quality or changed their sound. I hope new cats will learn from that. As for the best PRODUCER award, you be the judge. The Amu performance was dope. I think big up to hype for the effort even though i would differ with them with some of the outragious awards they gave. much love to hype....ave never missed a copy by the way.OOHHH BIG UP to Sake Of Skill for the best mixtape award, and thanks for hooking up my boys Liquid KZN on that tape as well...................Effort Makes Progress

word son, i wasnt aware of that, but i guess ...u right HIPHOP is dead. The same applies to record sales cats just view, rip and litsen and never buy! i mean if you look at the producers's award i wonder how they came about with that decision, your MEGA cats like Nyambz and HIPE to name a few are belting out mad beats...but they get no props...........it also beats me how mainstream cats would release Albums and leave out these cats in the production line.......am not hating on the cat that won though.....but i personally did not feel that award.......like i said i buy each and every Hype mag..and buy all SA NEW hiphop releases worth my hard earned money.....ave followed SA hiphop from its inception....if you pick up Age of Truth (10+ year old POC album) or the mother load (one done by Amu, shorty, skillz, loko etc) and compare it to any mainstream copy out now............you will see the difference, content and production wise.........lets hope the next awards will represent skill..........and them real cats will come out and represent the real............
