HipHopDX has obtained documentation from the state of Florida that lists the “definition of real” rapper’s first real run-in with the law to have not taken place until two years ago, on April 12, 2006, when Plies - real name Algernod Lanier Washington, born May 22, 1976 - would have been on the eve of his 30th birthday and just beginning his ascension to his current status of gold-certified rap star.

Truth be told yea i'm not a big fan of anyone whose claim to fame is being a criminal or former criminal. Such things shouldn't be lauded coz fact is jus by talking abt it dude is getting street cred coz da "streets is talking" as jigga would put it. Understand hip hop is a hard genre so u gotta earn ya stripes but surely theres a betta way than getting incarcerated and then chatting abt in ya next 10 albums( sounds like Freddie Gwala to me lol for ma SA bros n sistreens nah mean lol)

honestly, i dont understand u, i mean HIphopiseducation or what, hey, get with the program, college boiz are starting to rap these days, it aint no longer how many dopes u slanged or how many yrs u spent in prison, its finally getting to how much u know. y should previously incacerated rappers be lauded? is it supposed to be a good quality that u were a former jailbird? what makes u a big boy is not the fact that u served 10yrs in the state pen, but that u came from nothing to put food on ur mom's table by hustling (i hope u know that hustling has nothing to do with selling drugs or violence, a single mum with 3 kids working 3 jobs is a cold hustler, i hope u know). nuff said.
