wish my skin was black

edited October 2011 in Poetry / spoken word
the sun is out, but somehow it feels like rain

i'm standing face up, hands to the heavens

you ask, from where wells my pain

i, i, i ... wish my skin was black

wish my skin was black

so i could see the light glistening back

so, so beautiful graced with sweat

and when I smile everyone knows why

ohhhh!! I wish my skin was black

a misses, easy, flowing cotton dress

it vibrates with her blackness, sweet caress

a dance that leaves even the gods impressed

awwww, ohhhhhhh .... i wish, how i wish

my skin was black, yeh! Be that ..

brutha, step up in tha mall when its packed

all slo mo, eyes get faded tryin not to look

know why? they hatin' but love that black

can't buy that! oh nooooo ..

woooo! I wish my skin was black
